Photoshop is powerful
I loved Enid Blyton as a kid - I had so many of the books as well as the Famous Five series. In fact, the only prize I ever won at primary school was for a book review of one of their stories.
My nine year old boy has a copy of The Magic Faraway tree. It’s definitely not his “style” but he does have a copy just the same!!
This was just about the only thing I would read as a childi remember reading this as a kid! and i was really impressed with it, too. it was so surreal and amazing, and i think there was maybe even a sequel following this one? used to be one of my favourite books.
These were my favourite series of books when I was little. The strife that Dick and Fanny got up to, together with Moonface and Silky! I adored these books. So I was pretty much horrified when I found out last year that Dick and Fanny’s names had been neutered to Rick and Frannie. I stood in the book shop yelling out, ‘What happened to Dick and Fanny?! What happened to Dick and Fannnnnnnnny?!’ This is kind of a big deal for me. Oh, my precious, fragile childhood memories.
I blame Enid Blyton for whimsy. And I love Amelia-Jane and her nasty evil ways.
